怀柔神堂峪风景区神堂峪自然风景区，位于怀柔城北范各庄乡境内神堂峪村北，距北京60公里，东邻雁栖湖，南靠红螺寺，西与慕田峪长城遥遥相望。该景区为两山夹一沟地势，长约10公里。谷底是清澈奔流的雁栖河水，两侧是景观奇特、秀丽如画的山峦。神堂峪风景区内，山坡石瀑造型奇异，龙潭碧水清澈，夏日可一边游泳，一边欣赏巨大的裸岩上倾泻而下的小型瀑布。神堂峪自然风景区融山川、河流、奇峰、坚石及古长城为一体，是一个环境幽静、没有干扰、没有污染、仙境般的世外桃源，景色优美，空气清新，气温一般比城区低3℃-4℃，是夏季避暑的好去处。游人来此， 既可消夏避暑，欣赏景色，又可住农家、摘山果、尝野菜、乘滑竿，尽享天然野趣。神堂峪自然风景区山峰险峻，怪石天成。菩萨帽造型奇特，高耸入云，令人神往；鹰嘴峰、骆驼岭、神龟石、凤凰台、石人群等鬼斧神工，惟妙惟肖，趣味无穷。闻名的雁栖河贯穿全区，水质清纯、流水不断。天然形成的龙潭、鸳鸯池、鳄鱼潭，水域宽阔，清澈见底。这里的水质高于国家二级饮用水标准，著名的“长寿村”就坐落在这里。历史上神堂峪为京畿要塞，修建于明万历年间的屯兵城堡遗址完好，历经沧桑的古长城，雄风犹存，为人们寻幽访古提供了良好的场所。抗日战争时期曾在龙潭发生过“龙潭惨案”，现在其遗址处建起了“龙潭惨案”纪念碑并已成为市团委和县团委挂牌命名的青少年爱国主义教育活动基地。 游乐建议：神堂峪设有飞天蹦极、飞降速滑、钓鱼、划船等项目，景区内开设了沙滩浴场、垂钓场、篝火场和野外烧烤场；修建了餐厅、客房、情趣木屋、商品部等服务设施，并开办了民俗旅游活动，游客可食宿在农家，体味淳朴的民俗风情。交通提示：从东直门乘916路和936路汽车或宣武门至神堂峪的旅游车均可到达。
