Well, in fact, I wouldn’t personally object to anyone receiving minor cosmetic surgeries. Admit it or not, facial symmetry plays a crucial role in determining one’s overall attractiveness. By undergoing certain minor procedures, people could realistically improve their appearances. Such transformation could in turn give a person advantages in terms of dating or romantic relations, and perhaps open up more career opportunities. I think even more significantly, having a better look boosts confidence in virtually all interactions one might engage in. So I don’t really have a problem with minor plastic surgeries as long as proper measures are taken to minimize the likelihood of medical risks and potential complications.

The reading passage points out three possible theories about how the Antarctic mountain range is formed. However, in the lecture, the professor respectively disproves the three views.
To begin with, the reading passage mentions the newly discovered mountain range is caused by the volcano hot spot. But, the listening contradicts that it needs a specific hot spot to form new mountain range, but it cannot found in the Antarctic one.
In addition, continental collision is regarded as the main reason of most mountain origin according to the reading passage. Nevertheless, the professor refutes this view because the range’s peak is sharp andtall， it proves the age of this mountain is too young to treated as the result of plate collision.
The last reason is that the gracier moves from other place to the Antarctic and freezes with the continent. As the professor says, the mountain exists because the running water shaped it. It means the mountain exists on the Antarctic since its formation.

Nowadays, a discussion is going on about the best way to make new friends. Some people believe the friendship connected by voluntary work can get on well, while some think making friends in trip is a preferred option because they could meet new friends during the travelling. From my point of view, joining in sport team is the best way to help students making new friends. And there are the reasons for it.
The main reason for my propensity is that the team members have the same interest and the goal they should fight for. Usually new students who join in one sport team in their school is out of great love of that sport. After becoming a part of the sport team, students will develop a sense of responsibility for their team and the desire of getting good achievement in the competition which motivate them to share ideas, train, discuss together. In the process, they naturally make new friends. My classmate in high school, is really crazy on football. He took part in school football team at grade 10 and performed actively in it. At that time, the team was preparing for the football competition and everyone was training towards the same goal. Although my school didn"t win the first prize, the unforgettable experience made him many close friends.
Second, making friends though sport team is relatively safe. Because students don"t have enough experience to distinguish good people or bad people in the society, they are easily to be cheated and hurt by "friends" making from other ways. For example, the reports about students killed, kidnapped by "friends" are found in newspaper and internet. But the friends in sport team are always their school mate or peers who have less possibility to do some harmful things.
The last but not least, the friendship connected by sport game is the most stable and valuable. Just like my classmate and his members, they made friends for love and didn"t think to get profit from each other. After graduate, they still play football together and keep communication. What sport team bring to them is not only the fulfillment of doing sport, the most important is that they receive the whole life friendship.
According the three reasons above, I believe joining in sport team is the best way for students to make new friends.
