Imogen Cunningham，F64团体的创始人之一，纯影派摄影风格中当之无愧的代表，倡导直接摄影，在她眼中形式就是一切，这种在当时被称为“直接摄影”的方式，带有先锋实验的性质，影响了很多人，她的许多经典之作已成为摄影艺术的范本。
Cunningham在她的摄影生涯中结实了很多摄影大师，并为他们拍摄了肖像，包括Alfred Steiglitz、Ansel Adams、August Sander、Dorothea Lange、Wayne Miller、Edward Weston、 Margrethe Mather、Lisette Model 、Man Ray等等摄影史上著名的大师。
