狍狍Capreoluscapreolus；roedeer鹿科狍属的一种。又称麅。体长0.95～1.35米，肩高0.67～0.78米，尾长仅2～3厘米，体重15～30千克；角短，长仅23厘米左右，角干直，基部粗糙有皱纹，分枝不多于3杈；夏毛红赭色，耳朵黑色，腹毛白色；冬毛黄褐。腿茶色，喉、腹白色；臀有白斑块；幼狍有3纵行白斑点，当体重达11千克左右时即消失。在欧亚大陆，除最北部极地和南部的印度外，分布范围极广。中国有2个亚种：中原亚种分布于东北、内蒙古、青海、河北向南至浙江；西域亚种分布在新疆。栖息在疏林带，多在河谷及缓坡上活动（海拔一般不超2400米），不喜进入密林。由母狍及其后代构成家族群，一般3～5只。晨昏活动，以草、蕈、浆果为食。雄狍仲夏才入群。一雄一雌，7～8月交配。在繁殖期，雄狍追着雌狍转圈跑，地面出现花环状足迹。妊娠期4个月。临产前，母狍驱散去年生的幼狍，进入密林分娩。幼狍3～6月出生，每胎1～2仔。若一胎产2仔，则出生地点相距10～20米，分别哺乳。出生10日后，母狍带领初生幼狍归群。狍受惊时吠叫。在野生环境中，寿命10～，最长可达。每年11～12月角脱落，2～3月生茸，4～5月角长成。
