固涩固涩运用具有收敛固涩作用的药物，治疗因脏腑虚损，正气不足，失于固摄所致的气血精液耗散滑脱的方法。又称收涩固脱。适用于脏腑虚损，正气不足所致的自汗盗汗，久咳不已，久泻久痢、遗精遗尿，或小便不禁，崩漏带下等病证。使用固涩法，除用收涩药物之外，还应根据不同脏腑和人体虚损情况，分别配合相应的药物，以治其本。根据不同的病证，固涩法的具体运用又可分为敛肺止咳、固表止汗、涩肠止泻、固肾涩精、固肾缩尿、固崩止带等法。临床上凡实邪引起的汗出、遗精、遗尿、泻痢不止、崩漏带下，不宜使用本法。邪气未尽，过早运用固涩法，则会使邪气留连不去，加重病情，即所谓有“闭门留寇”之弊。
