蟒蛇洞
蟒蛇洞在长沙岳麓山禹王碑北面的一个幽谷中。蟒蛇洞在西晋以前叫“抱黄洞”。相传宋祥符年间(公元1008-10), 有个叫张抱黄的道士,在岩下修炼,丹成升仙而去,“抱黄洞”由此而来。据传张道士升仙后,洞被蟒蛇盘踞, 故有蟒蛇洞之名。蟒蛇洞之成为名胜,出自一个神奇的故事。据说蟒蛇经过千年修炼,每年7月15日都要出洞为害。它从洞中吐舌为桥,越过湘江架到河东白鹤观,一双蛇眼圆瞪象灯笼,口中发出美妙动人的音乐。人们看到湘江上突然出现彩虹般的仙桥,以为是引渡凡人上升天界的。有一位道士率先踏上“仙桥”,但有去无回,葬身蛇腹。当时荆江二州刺使陶侃以他敏锐的观察,见“天门”外悬的天灯寒光逼人,疑是妖孽作怪,便 一箭射去,顿时天灯熄灭,桥也无影无踪。后来派人按血迹寻找,在抱黄洞内,发现有一大蟒被射死了。 从此,黎民百姓安居乐业,为了感谢陶侃为民除害,将他立足发箭的射台,称为射蟒台。
