砧木(rootstock)砧木(rootstock)嫁接繁殖时承受接穗的植株。砧木可以是整株果树,也可以是树体的根段或枝段,起固着、支撑接穗并与接穗愈合后形成植株生长、结果。砧木是果树嫁接苗的基础。苹果矮化砧木,抗葡萄根瘤蚜的砧木,抗柑橘根线虫的砧木以及耐寒性强的砧木利用促进了果树的发展。嫁接繁殖的果树,靠砧木的根系从土壤中吸收水分和矿质营养,进行生命活动。砧木本身某些方面的特性,如对旱、涝、低温、盐碱以及病虫的忍耐和抗拒能力,直接影响果树的抗性和适应性。还直接影响树体的生长、结果及寿命。砧木可以使嫁接树的树体长得高大,也可以使树体长得矮小,同一品种嫁接在不同砧木上,树高和树冠体积会相差数倍;并且对枝条萌发的数量和组成比例、生长物候期以及树体姿态都有明显影响。砧木对果树的开始结果时期、坐果率、产量、果实成熟期、色泽,品质以及贮藏能力等都有一定影响。砧木对嫁接树的寿命有很大影响,如石楠作枇杷的砧木,寿命长达80年以上,而共砧仅40-50年;果树栽培中利用的砧木有二类:一类是实生繁殖的砧木;另一类是无性繁殖的自根苗或称无性系砧木。根据利用方式不同,把连同根系用作砧木的,称基砧,只用一段条嵌在基砧与接穗之间的称中间砧。能够使接穗长成5m左右高大树冠的砧木称乔化砧,使树冠长得比乔化砧树冠小1/3的砧木称半矮化砧。使树冠长得仅为乔化砧树冠1/2的称矮化砧。对不良环境条件或某些病虫害具有良好适应能力或抵抗能务的砧木,称抗性砧木。嫁接苹果常用的砧木:山荆子、楸子、花红、河南海棠、湖北海棠、海棠花等;嫁接梨常用的砧木:秋子梨、杜梨、褐梨、麻梨、沙梨、豆梨等;嫁接桃常用的砧木:杏、扁桃、山桃、梅等;嫁接柑橘类常用的砧木:枳、枳橙、酸橘、甜橙、酸柠檬、橙子、柚等。
